Beautiful "flambé" coffee set (one handful per cup, no handle) from the 1950s.

The service is in "fat lava" ceramic, ie the enamelling is in relief. The motif is a stylized and very colorful fish, in the purest style of the Vallauris earthenware factories. However, it does not bear a signature.

It is composed of :
- 1 coffee maker with its lid
- 1 sugar bowl with its lid
- 1 milk jug
- 6 cups
- 6 saucers

The whole service has not been used very much and is in very good condition. It is an artisanal work with the small cooking defects that it might have.

Dimensions:
- coffee maker: height 20 cm.
- milk jug: height 13 cm.
- sugar bowl: height 12 cm.
- cups: height 7 cm, diameter 6 cm.
- saucers: diameter 13.5 cm.

  • The Vallauris earthenware factories have existed since the 16th century and were founded by Genoese families.

They experienced a first major development in the nineteenth century thanks to the arrival of the railway, but the golden age of these factories is from the fifties, when famous artists sign pieces made in these workshops. (Picasso, Dali, Jean Cocteau...).

Roger Capron and Robert Picault are the most famous workshops, but others have also produced exceptional pieces.
